Getting started is simple. Complete our Request Care form or call us at (980) 428-9058. From there, the general process is: Request Care → Care Consultation → Personalized Care Plan → Caregiver Coordination → Begin Care. We will walk you through each step and answer your questions along the way. We do not guarantee a specific start date, as timing depends on the assessment process and caregiver availability.

Do you provide transportation?

Yes. Carolina's Connections offers a non-medical Transportation & Errands service to help clients get to appointments, run errands, and stay connected to their community. We do not provide emergency medical transportation, ambulance services, or medical transport. For emergencies, call 911.

Can a caregiver accompany someone to an appointment?

Yes. Appropriate accompaniment and escort support may be arranged when included in the approved service plan. This can include accompanying a client to a medical appointment, pharmacy, or other destination as part of our non-medical transportation service.

Do you provide post-surgery or post-hospital care?

Yes. Carolina's Connections offers Post-Hospital and Post-Operative Support as a non-medical recovery assistance service. This may include personal care, meal preparation, light housekeeping, companionship, and help with daily routines during recovery. This service does not include skilled nursing, wound care, medication administration, physical therapy, or any clinical treatment. For medical recovery needs, please work with your healthcare provider.

Can Carolina's Connections help my loved one if they already live in assisted living or senior living?

Families may privately arrange appropriate supplemental one-on-one non-medical support in certain residential settings when permitted by the facility and consistent with the client's care plan. This is sometimes called supplemental care or private-duty care within a facility. Please contact us to discuss your specific situation and facility.

Does your caregiver replace the facility staff?

No. Carolina's Connections complements existing care and does not replace facility staff, nurses, physicians, therapists, or other licensed providers. Our caregivers provide additional one-on-one non-medical support alongside the care already provided by the facility.

Can you help when someone is receiving hospice or palliative care?

Accepted Answer

Families may arrange appropriate non-medical companionship and comfort-focused support while a loved one receives clinical hospice or palliative services from another provider. Appropriate support may include companionship, compassionate presence, family respite, appropriate personal assistance within our scope, and helping maintain a calm and dignified environment. Carolina's Connections does not provide hospice nursing, pain management, wound care, medication administration, or any other clinical treatment through its non-medical service.

How are caregivers selected?

Can we request the same caregiver consistently?

Carolina's Connections values consistent caregiver-client relationships and will consider compatibility and continuity whenever possible. However, specific caregiver availability cannot be guaranteed. We will communicate with you if a change in caregiver assignment is necessary.

What happens if our regular caregiver is unavailable?

Carolina's Connections will follow its staffing and communication procedures and work to address coverage when possible. We will notify the family and make every effort to arrange appropriate support.

Can caregivers administer medications?

No. Carolina's Connections caregivers do not administer medications. Caregivers may provide appropriate medication reminders, observation, and reporting when authorized in the care plan and permitted by company policy. For medication management needs, please consult your healthcare provider.

What happens if a caregiver notices a change in my loved one's condition?

Caregivers follow Carolina's Connections approved reporting and escalation procedures for changes in condition, safety concerns, and emergencies. Caregivers are not medical professionals and do not diagnose medical conditions. If a concern arises, the caregiver will follow company procedures and notify the appropriate parties.
